Meet the Mirthlings
- In Development
- Steam
- Android
- iOS
Tiny creatures. Terrible instincts. One very important rocket.
Your job is simple: supervise an island full of strange little creatures and get as many of them onto a rocket as possible.
Unfortunately, the Mirthlings aren't particularly bright. They wander off, start fights, fall into the ocean, and occasionally become lunch for the island's less friendly residents. Hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, and enormous predators don't help.
Fortunately, you have machinery, a little ingenuity, and an apparently unlimited supply of Mirthlings.
Two Ways to Play
Simulation Mode
Run a living island of unpredictable creatures. Hatch Mirthlings, raise specialized workers and defenders, build facilities, and fill increasingly demanding rocket shipments. Step in directly, experiment with how the creatures behave, and try to keep everything standing when the disasters and hungry monsters show up.
Normal Mode
Every game starts on a new, procedurally generated island. Deliver Mirthlings to earn Merit, then spend it between rounds on upgrades and Rube Goldberg contraptions: conveyor belts, pneumatic tubes, trampolines, and worse. Chain machines together for Merit multipliers, automate with specialist Mirthlings, and defend it all from monsters, disasters, and breakdowns. Your factory carries over between rounds, growing bigger, stranger, and (hopefully) more efficient with every launch.
Where It’s At
Meet the Mirthlings is steadily moving from prototype into a full game. We're currently focused on tightening the core systems, building out the island, and getting everything ready for release on Steam. Mobile versions for iOS and Android are planned to follow later.
The game will have a free version, along with a supporter version that includes access to additional artwork, music, and extra sandbox-style options for players who want to mess around with the simulation a little more.
Build it. Break it. Fix it. Launch the Mirthlings.
